2026 Genuine RoughHouse 50
2026 Genuine RoughHouse 50
The Roughhouse 50 is Genuine's tough one — the only scooter in its class as tough as it looks, and the fastest 50cc scooter you can buy today: up to 50 mph unrestricted while still needing no Florida motorcycle endorsement. Big 12-inch wheels, dual-sport-style knobby tires, a tall stance and an adjustable rear shock let it shrug off the broken pavement, curbs and grates that swallow a small-wheeled scooter on Miami Beach. It's powered by the same punchy oil-injected 49.7cc two-stroke as the Buddy, returning 100+ MPG, with a front disc brake and rugged styling. And because it's a 50cc, in Florida it rides on your regular driver's license: no motorcycle endorsement, no waiting.

Standout features
- The fastest 50cc you can buy. Up to 50 mph unrestricted — quicker than any other 50cc on the market — and in Florida it still needs no motorcycle endorsement.
- Big 12-inch wheels. Far more stable over potholes, curbs and grates than a small-wheel scooter — the Roughhouse feels planted.
- Dual-sport-style knobby tires. A tough, go-anywhere look and grip on rough Miami pavement.
- Adjustable rear shock. Dial in the ride for your weight and the roads you ride.
- 100+ MPG. A five-dollar fill-up lasts two weeks of beach errands.
- No motorcycle endorsement in Florida. Your regular Class E license rides it home today.

Frequently asked questions
Is Genuine a good scooter brand?
Yes. Genuine Scooter Company is a Chicago-based American brand whose Buddy has been one of the best-selling small scooters in the country for two decades, with a loyal owner base and a deep dealer and parts network. We're an authorized Genuine dealer and service every one we sell in-house at 1743 Bay Road.
Do I need a motorcycle endorsement to ride this in Florida?
No. Any scooter with a 50cc-or-smaller engine is ridable in Florida on a standard Class E driver's license — no motorcycle endorsement required, regardless of top speed. See our Florida scooter law guide for registration details.
It's a 2-stroke — do I have to mix oil and gas?
No. Genuine's 49.7cc two-strokes are oil-injected: you just keep the separate 2-stroke oil tank topped up and the scooter meters it automatically. No pre-mixing at the pump. Two-strokes are light, simple and punchy off the line — a big part of why the Buddy is so quick around town.
What's the difference between the Roughhouse and the Roughhouse Sport?
The Sport adds a more aggressive package — 12-inch black alloy rims with street tires, a wave brake rotor with a 2-piston caliper, hand guards, a sport seat, LED turn signals and an upgraded piggyback-reservoir rear shock. The standard Roughhouse keeps the rugged dual-sport look at a lower price.
What does the warranty cover?
Genuine backs every new scooter with a 3-year unlimited-mile warranty. We register it for you at delivery, handle warranty service in-house at 1743 Bay Road, and stock common service parts on-site so you're not waiting on shipments.
Is parts availability a problem?
No. The Buddy and Roughhouse have been sold in big numbers for years, so Genuine's dealer and parts network is deep and well-supported. We stock fast-moving service parts here on Bay Road and pull anything else within the week.
Can I test ride the Roughhouse 50 before I buy?
Absolutely. Book a test ride or call (305) 538-7878. Bring a valid driver's license and closed-toe shoes.
