Vespa Scooters in Miami Beach
Vespa Sales & Service in Miami Beach
Independent Vespa specialist at 1743 Bay Road since 1998. We sell brand-new and pre-owned Vespas, service and repair them with OEM Vespa parts, and ship them nationwide and worldwide — from the no-license Primavera 50 to the limited-run 946 Snake.
80 years of Italian design, parked on Bay Road
In 1946, an aeronautical engineer named Corradino D'Ascanio — a man who openly disliked motorcycles — drew a scooter that hid its engine, eliminated the frame, and let a woman ride in a skirt without leaving grease on her calf. Enrico Piaggio looked at the prototype and said, "Sembra una vespa" — it looks like a wasp. The name stuck. So did the silhouette.
Eighty years and more than 19 million Vespas later, the same factory in Pontedera, Tuscany, still stamps every body panel. That continuity is the reason a 1965 Vespa restored in a Miami Beach garage today fits the same accessories as a 2026 Primavera on our showroom floor — and the reason a Vespa, more than any other scooter, treats Miami's salt-air coastline like home.
Why a Vespa fits Miami Beach better than anywhere else in America
- The streets were built for it. Collins, Washington, Lincoln, Ocean Drive — sub-30-mph, dense, no place to park a car. A Vespa fits any moto bay with the city's annual scooter permit (~$137/year at time of writing).
- The aesthetic was made for it. Art Deco facades, pastel walls, palm shadows, terrazzo lobbies — a Vespa Primavera in Verde Pastello belongs here the way it belongs on the Via del Corso.
- The Vespa monocoque survives the salt. Pressed-steel body, painted and treated at the factory, single-sided suspension you can hose down. Coastal Italian usage is the brand's native habitat. Rinse after a beach ride, treat the electricals annually, and a Vespa outlives the condo board. See our Miami salt-air maintenance guide.
- The GTS 300 is causeway-legal. Real 75–80 mph, ABS, ASR traction control. Brickell to South Beach on the MacArthur, no apology required.
- It holds value. A 3-year-old Vespa retains roughly 70% of MSRP — the highest resale of any scooter sold in the US.

FAQ
Are you an authorized Vespa dealer?
No — we're an independent Vespa specialist. We sell brand-new and pre-owned Vespas, service and repair them on Bay Road using OEM Vespa parts, and back our service work with our own in-shop parts-and-labor guarantee. We've been working on Vespas at this address since 1998. If you want to know exactly how Piaggio's factory warranty applies to the specific unit you're considering, we'll walk you through it before you sign.
Do I need a motorcycle license to ride a Vespa Primavera 50?
No. Florida lets you ride a ≤50cc scooter on your regular Class E driver's license. You'll need the motorcycle endorsement for the Primavera 150, Sprint S, GTS, GTV, and 946.
How much does a Vespa cost in Miami?
MSRP runs roughly $5,000 for a new Primavera 50, $6,300 for a Primavera 150, $7,200–$8,500 for a GTS 300, and $13,499 for a 946 Snake. Freight, dealer assembly, tag, title, registration, and Florida sales tax are additional. We'll quote your full out-the-door price in writing before you commit.
Will salt air destroy a Vespa?
No, but Miami is hard on every scooter. We offer ongoing coastal-climate care — anti-corrosion treatment, electrical inspection, stainless-fastener swaps — tailored to how much beach riding you actually do. Call us with your usage pattern for a quote. See our salt-air maintenance guide for what we look for.
Do you do trade-ins?
Yes. Bring any scooter — Vespa or otherwise — and we'll appraise it on the spot. Credit applies directly to your next Vespa purchase.
Do you finance with bad or limited credit?
We work with multiple lenders, including options for thin credit files and ITIN-based applications. Pre-qualify online with a soft pull — no impact to your score.
Can you deliver out of state? Out of the country?
Yes to both. We crate and ship Vespas nationwide, and we routinely coordinate Caribbean and international shipments — Bahamas, Cayman Islands, Puerto Rico, USVI, and elsewhere via licensed freight forwarders. Tell us your destination and we'll quote it.
What about parts for an older Vespa I already own?
We stock common service parts on-site and order anything else through the Piaggio OEM parts pipeline. We also restore PX, GT200, GTS, and Primavera platforms in-house.
Can I get my Vespa serviced here even if I bought it somewhere else?
Yes. A meaningful share of the Vespas in our service bay every week were sold by someone else.
How does the Vespa GTS 300 compare to a Honda PCX or Yamaha XMAX?
The GTS 300 wins on style, build quality, and resale (~70% at 3 years vs. ~50% for the Japanese maxis). The Honda PCX and Yamaha XMAX win on price (~$1,500–$2,000 less) and dealer-network breadth. For Miami Beach causeway commuting, all three are capable; the GTS is the one people stop you to photograph.
