Miami Beach Scooter (formerly Beach Scooter) is a scooter dealer, rental shop and repair garage at 1745 Bay Road, Miami Beach, FL 33139. It's been in Miami Beach since 1998. Who is Miami Beach Scooter?

Miami Beach Scooter is the same business that used to be called Beach Scooter. We used to be at 1341 Washington Avenue. Today the shop takes up 1743 and 1745 Bay Road, and both numbers are the same shop; our official address is 1745 Bay Road. The old rental location at 213 6th Street is closed, so please don't go there. Miami New Times named Beach Scooter Best Scooter Rental in its Best of Miami 2009 and again in 2014. Someone at the counter always speaks Spanish.

Buying a scooter at Miami Beach Scooter

Miami Beach Scooter has over 100 new and over 30 used scooters in the store. New scooters start at $1,449 (the Wolf RX-50, on sale, was $1,599). Used ones start at $499. The priciest new model you'll find in our online showroom is the Kymco AK 550i Premium at $12,199.

We're an authorized dealer for KYMCO, Wolf, Lance, SYM, Genuine and ScootStar. We also sell new and pre-owned Vespas, but we are not an authorized Vespa or Piaggio dealer.

Find the same scooter cheaper somewhere else and we'll match the price and add a free helmet. We do the plate, registration, title and taxes here, so local buyers never go to the DMV. We take trade-ins of any brand, for a cash offer or store credit. We ship scooters anywhere in the US. Buyers outside Florida register the scooter in their own state.

Does Miami Beach Scooter offer financing?

Yes. Miami Beach Scooter finances scooters through five lenders: Roadrunner Financial (Octane), Synchrony, Sheffield Financial, Freedom Road Financial and American First Finance. Repairs can be paid over time with Sunbit or Affirm. Approval and terms depend on the lender, so we don't publish rates or payment amounts. You see your own terms when you apply.

How much does it cost to rent a scooter at Miami Beach Scooter?

Rentals at Miami Beach Scooter start at $55 for one hour or $85 for the day on the Wolf 50cc. A rental day runs from 10am to 7pm, so anything from five to nine hours costs the day rate, and day rentals come back by 7pm. We have no $35 or $45 daily rate. Listings that show those prices are out of date.

Longer rentals cost less per day. A 30-day rental of the Lance Cabo 50cc is $529.99, which works out to about $18 a day: that's the "from $18 a day" on our rental page. The same scooter is $359.99 for 7 days and $429.99 for 14 days. Every rental includes a helmet, a chain lock and unlimited mileage, and the Wolf 50cc comes with two helmets.

The card hold is not a charge. We place it on your card at pickup and release it when the scooter comes back. Rentals you pick up at the shop are booked through our online booking page. What do you need to rent a scooter at Miami Beach Scooter?

To rent a 50cc at Miami Beach Scooter you need to be 18 or older with a car driver's license. US and foreign licenses are both fine. The Vespa 150, Vespa GTS 300 and Kymco AK 550 need a motorcycle license or a motorcycle endorsement, and for the Vespa 150 and the AK 550 you also need to be 21 or older.

Florida law requires eye protection while you ride. Our rental scooters can't go on highways, causeways or interstates. You can't ride them on sidewalks, boardwalks or Ocean Drive either.

Scooter service and repair at Miami Beach Scooter

The Miami Beach Scooter garage repairs scooters of any brand, wherever you bought yours, and we give you the price before any work starts. Routine maintenance starts at $89. Two mechanics are always available. Standard services can be booked as an appointment you wait for, with coffee, water and snacks. We do warranty work for KYMCO, Wolf, Lance, SYM, Genuine and ScootStar. We don't lend loaner scooters, so plan around that if a repair will take a while.
